The roleThis is a lead role, not a labor role
You will be the last set of eyes on our projects before the client's.
- The punch list. From the first walkthrough to final sign-off. Drywall patching, touch-up paint, caulk lines that are actually straight, trim and minor carpentry, tile, doors and hardware, basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
- The grounds. Getting a yard back after we have been all over it. Final grade, sod and seed, mulch and plantings, edging and borders, cleanup and haul-off, minor hardscape repair, and the backyard restoration after a pool install. A finished pool in a torn-up yard is not a finished job, and this is the part most builders get wrong.
- The crew. Directing 2 to 5 workers, assigning the day's work, setting the pace, and correcting technique on the spot.
- The standard. Deciding what acceptable looks like on each project and holding the line on it. Your name on a closed item means it is right.
- The record. Logging defects, tracking corrections, photographing the finished work, and reporting status.
The physical side, said plainly
This is outdoor work in Tennessee weather, and we would rather you know exactly what that means before you apply than find out in July.
- Summer heat and humidity, winter cold, and rain the day before a client walkthrough.
- On your feet most of the day. Kneeling, bending, ladders, and stairs.
- Regularly lifting and carrying 50 pounds, and handling heavier material with help.
- Loading, hauling and unloading tools, materials and debris between jobs.
- Holding the same standard at 3pm in August that you had at 7am.
If that reads like a normal day to you, good. If it reads like a warning, this is not the job.
Truck and licence
You need your own truck. This role moves tools, materials and debris between jobs and tows our trailer, so it has to be a truck that can pull. You also need a valid driver's licence, a clean enough record to tow for an insured company, and your own basic hand tools. We supply the equipment, materials, and anything specialized.
